tando - larger than life

over at tando i've created this clock using their cuckoo clock chipboard kit.  i added one of the large chipboard flourishes on the roof peak.  i used small, self-stick alphabet letters to add the quote: "the price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it".  that surely gives you something to think about, doesn't it?  i hope to make all my moments count.

stampotique challenge time

it's stampotique challenge time once again.  kim has asked to create a  birthday card. why? it is her birthday! happy birthday kim! i decided to go with more untraditional birthday card.  since i recently relocated from pennsylvania to florida and all my family lives up north i wanted to make something that had deeper meaning to send someone on their birthday.

i used glossy card stock and alcohol inks for the background.  i used staz on ink to stamp a car full on top of that once it dried.  i stamped the love travels sentiment and glued that ontop of a piece of ribbon that symbolizes the road.

if you would like to join in on the fun you can find all about the details by clicking the above link.  If you play you will have a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate towards Stampotique stamps, and really, who couldn't use more stamps?!

stampotique design team call (SDB)

stampotique is having a design team call. they are looking for people who love stampotique stamps and want to inspire others to use them in their art creations. if you think you have what they are looking for please go over to the stampotique blog and read through the information to apply. the call is only open until the end of september so you have a few weeks to get your entry ready. i am reapplying for the next term. here are a few samples of my art:
bird princess, learning to fly, spider grass, scalloped lace border
daisy, daisy, squiggle arms, scalloped lace border, starbird, chair, love travels
flying heart, b grateful , heart vine

as part of the reapplying for the design team they want to know what my creative style is and why i would like to be part of the stampotique team. i do so many different things and use such a variety of mediums when i make art. i believe that i am known for bright color usage and creating whimsical art. as far as why i would like to reapply, i think that is such an easy answer. not only are all the design team members kind, supportive, inspiring and extremely talented, i absolutely LOVE the stampotique rubber stamps. i am truly blessed to be part of the greatest stamp company on earth. i was a fan of their stamps long before i started creating for them.
i know there will be a lot of wonderful artists applying for a chance to be on the team.  i truly hope i will remain a part of this family.  good luck to all of you who will (re)apply!

stampotique challenge time

it's stampotique challenge time once again.  sue has asked to create a page with at least three layers, whether it is with paint, stencils, paper layering, etc.  i used my brand new stamp i'm learning to fly, my heart vine and my flying bird to create this journal page.

if you would like to join in on the fun you can find all about the details by clicking the above link.  If you play you will have a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate towards Stampotique stamps, and really, who couldn't use more stamps?!

let's leaf it

this week, over at tando, the theme is let's leaf it.  i created this large clothes pin holder with a play on words.  the little note says "do not 'leaf' this until tomorrow.  my desk is always messy, and most times in a state of disrepair.  i swear i spend more time looking for things than creating them.  so hopefully this can help me not misplace the important things i really want to get done.
to create this i used tando's leaf stencil, which is one of my most favorite stencils to date, by the way.  i used their mugs and cup's grab bag, as well as the tando mini flowers.  i also used one of the flowers to cut apart to create the tiny leaves for this project.
i hope you will head over to tando to find something you can't live with out!

stampotique blog hop

Stampotique has got some fabulous new designs being released today.  Wait until you see these!!!  Each release seems to come with such great new stamps it's hard to find a favorite. The design team has been bursting at the seams to share these with you.

Here is a card I made using one of my new stamps being released today.  It's my "love" rubber stamp.

Stampotique is proud to introduce a brand new artist.  Her name is Linda Peterson and I sure you are going to love her line of stamps.  They are so cute.

So come on and hop along with the design team and some special guests to see the new stamps the team has been working with.  The more blogs you comment on, the better your chances of winning some goodies are.

All you have to do is let us know what your favorite stamps were and we'll pick a few random winners from the blog comments (this includes the design team blogs).  You will have a chance to win a grab bag of the new stamps.  You will have until 9/10/13 to leave a comment.  The winners will be announced with the new challenge on 9/11/13.

You will want to hop on over to Janet Klein's blog from here, if you are just coming across my blog you may want to begin at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog:
